Sounds like a really geeky–and uninteresting–topic.  Maybe so.

But an article on the Factset Insight blog does sort out S&P 500 index ETFs, among other things, according to cost.  Titled How Well Run Is Your ETF?, it’s well worth reading.  It concludes that IVV and VOO are superior to SPY.
